About us

About REF Inc

REF Background

A group of local residents established Redcliffe Environmental Forum (REF) in 2006 in order to raise awareness for the many environmentally sensitive issues confronting the Redcliffe and Moreton Bay region. In undertaking our key initiatives, REF works closely with many other like-minded community groups and local, state and commonwealth government organisations, in promoting environmental awareness and the principles of ecological sustainable development in the region.

REF Strategic Objectives

The key strategic objectives of the REF have been developed around three core focuses: Rehabilitation, Education, and Facilitation:

  • To lead and participate in environmental rehabilitation initiatives in the region
  • To educate the community on matters that have or may have an adverse environmental impact in the region
  • Facilitate consultation and community engagement on matters of an environmentally sensitive nature
