Here is a chance to learn about Soil and Erosion Control from Kel Sanson an expert to answer many questions including What is soil erosion exactly? What types of erosion occur in the environment? Here is the opportunity to find out more about our precious wetlands and the impact of climate change from Professor Catherine Lovelock a renowned researcher on the ecology of coastal wetlands and some of the findings that could restore and maintain these systems into the future. Dr Faith Coleman is an estuarine ecologist with over 30 years of experience working in Australia and around the world. Faith is often called in after major algae blooms, which tend to prompt local caretakers to seek expert help. As a result, she has learnt more about the causes, triggers, and solutions for algae blooms than any ecologist really wants to know. Free registration here.

Hear from Brianna Le Busque, a senior lecturer at Adelaide University. She holds a PhD in Psychology, and her research work is mainly within the area of environmental psychology. Brianna's presentation will explore a series of environmental psychology studies conducted over several years to unpack the complex psychological and social drivers of shark fear and the impact on people's perspective on shark conservation. Participants should ensure to wear protective clothing (long sleeves and long pants are recommended), suitable footwear, bring plenty of water; wear a hat, sunscreen and insect repellent if necessary. Council provides tools and equipment, plants and mulch. Meet at the Rugby Union Clubhouse carpark on Silcock Street.

It's important that you bring a hat, sunblock, insect repellent, water bottle and appropriate footwear (it is a wetland area). For the official count afterwards, bring a chair and morning tea.

Hays Inlet Bird Survey. Refer to our bird survey information on Bird Surveys. We have checked the tide times, and we are hoping that the waders will be congregating before they head off for Northern climes. Note, it will be muddy so appropriate footwear will be required, there are always mosquitoes, so insect repellent, a bottle of water and sunscreen is also essential.
