Deception Bay

Deception Bay Mangroves

The waterfront at Deception Bay has a number of public amenities including a heritage trail, boat ramps and picnic facilities. It is also a wonderful and accessible opportunity to take in many of the key plants associated with the Mangrove Forests of Moreton Bay.  Within an easy walk it is possible to see 6 of the 8 species of Mangroves found in the Bay and if you look carefully you will also see examples of the Mangrove lily. Better still, watch the video below with "REF's Mangrove Man", Geoffrey Redman and he will show you all sorts of plants and all just a step off the land's edge!

"What a great place to start an educational activity on the mangroves of Moreton Bay!".
